Improve Your Child’s Confidence

Make Your Home Life Easier

Learning Fun

Finally, someone is here to help.

Your child doesn’t need to fall further and further behind in school and with their development.

As a parent, have you watched your child struggle at home or at school but haven’t quite been able to put your finger on what is causing their challenges? Have you noticed these difficulties are starting to affect their self-confidence and willingness to try hard things? Does your child have big reactions and become upset easily and you don’t know how to help them? Have you had a hunch for years that “something just isn’t right” with your child but doctors and teachers have told you your child will grow out of it?

Sensory processing difficulties are complex and no two children look the same which makes it really difficult to get the right kind of support. Many children with sensory processing challenges aren’t receiving adequate supports in school or through traditional medical models but it doesn’t have to be that way. We are ready to help your child feel “Joie de Vivre” (joy in life).

Book your free screening call with one of our sensory experts to get your child the support they need. We know that the earlier we provide intervention, the better the outcomes!

Oc-cu-pa-tion (noun)

Occupations are various kinds of life activities in which individuals, groups, or populations engage, including activities of daily living. instrumental activities of daily living, rest and sleep, education, work, play, leisure, and social participation

A child’s life is made up of ‘occupations,’ or daily activities. These occupations include playing, learning, and socializing. Occupational therapy practitioners work with children and their families to help them succeed in these activities throughout the day. They also help with basic challenges faced by most families, from creating morning routines to choosing appropriate toys.

AVCTC Offers

Complimentary Screenings

Schedule a free 15-minute phone screenings with one of our expert clinicians to discuss your areas of concerns. Our goal for the screening is to determine if an assessment is appropriate, ensure that we are the best fit to meet your child’s needs and answer your questions about our process. We recognize how overwhelming it can feel to figure out how to begin the process of getting your child help. We are here to make that a little less confusing.

Comprehensive Therapy Evaluations

We believe that the best way to help your child is to truly understand the underlying challenges that are getting in the way of success. As such, we recommend completing a thorough evaluation. As occupational therapists, it is our job to not just identify functional concerns (i.e. difficulty cutting) but to understand and address the why. We are always asking ourselves why is a task hard and what can we do to improve the underlying deficit?

Individualized Therapy Services

We do not believe in one sized fits all approaches. We take many factors into account when determining how to support your child. For example, research shows that incorporating an intensive model is the most effective however we recognize that this approach is often not possible for all families for various reasons. We work with you to come up with a plan that fits with your priorities.
